It all started in 1919, when young Ostap Transdanubus met Ibrahim Bender. He is a swindler, and a Turkish citizen. They are joined for an incredible adventure - the pursuit of a golden rod, a precious relic of Tsarist Russia. Then Ostap will find and open twelve chairs in search of diamonds, but for the time being, Ibrahim and his goal are to find and open three expensive coffins, in one of which a rod is hidden. Ostap has no experience, Ibrahim teaches him everything: charmingly cheating, building combinations, using the love of women. Ostap is resisting - he is an idealist, he despises thieves, and he just fell in love with two beautiful girls at once. The search for coffins and the extraction of the wand turn into a dangerous and fascinating adventure, because there are other treasure hunters. But only Ibrahim and Ostap have the excitement, passion and talent that turn fraud into real art. One day a student will surpass his teacher.
