Minato (Taiga Kyomoto) is studying music at a conservatory in the UK until a traumatic experience forces him to return to his native Japan. He restarts his studies at a prestigious domestic music school, but is still haunted by the past – leaving him unable to play piano as he once did. While walking past a largely deserted section of the school, he hears an enchanting song being played on a piano. Fascinated, he enters the building, where he sees a young woman named Yukino (Kotone Furukawa) playing the piece. When he asks what the song is called, she replies that it is a secret. However, the duo soon strikes up a friendship that begins to transform into a fledgling romance. Gradually, Minato finds himself able to enjoy playing music again. Love, it seems, may be in the cards. But when Yukino suddenly disappears, will Minato’s newfound joy turn into fresh despair? This Japanese movie was based on the 2007 Taiwanese film Secret.
