Todd Grinnell was an American actor who enjoyed a prolific career in film and on television in the early 21st century. Born in Massachusetts, Grinnell landed his first professional gig at the age of 26, appearing in the film "Lost Soul" (2002). His television debut came in 2006 with a guest role on the short-lived sitcom "Love, Inc." (UPN, 2005-06). Grinnell played a newspaper reporter in the 1940s noir throwback "Hollywoodland" (2006), while continuing to book guest roles and small arcs on TV shows such as "Criminal Minds" (CBS, 2005-), "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" (FX/FXX, 2005-), and "Cold Case" (CBS, 2003-2010). In 2008, Grinnell was cast in his first series regular role, playing Dr. Alex Cominis on the primetime soap opera "Desperate Housewives" (ABC, 2004-2012). Meanwhile, Grinnell still continued to appear on other TV shows, including "Parks and Recreation" (NBC, 2009-2015), "The Mentalist" (CBS, 2008-2015), and "How I Met Your Mother" (CBS, 2005-2014). His next series regular role was on the short-lived family drama "Jane by Design" (Freeform, 2012). The parade of guest spots continued, including stints on "Vegas" (CBS, 2012-2013), "Battle Creek" (CBS, 2015), and "Hot in Cleveland" (TV Land, 2010-2015), before Grinnell was cast in a three episode arc alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin on the sitcom "Grace and Frankie" (Netflix, 2015-). Grinnell could most recently be seen playing the hapless superintendent Schneider on Netflix's modernized version of the Norman Lear classic "One Day at a Time" (Netflix, 2017-).
