Edgar J. Scherick

Advertising executive who went into TV production (introducing Wide World of Sports), and headed Palomar Pictures before establishing himself as an independent producer in the late 1960s. Scherick made his mark with his second production, the ingeniously crafted intrigue "Sleuth" (1972); other notable productions include "The Heartbreak Kid" (1972) and "Shoot the Moon" (1982).
