A young cook named Max comes to Moscow to work in the swanky restaurant "Claude Monet." But what he finds is not quite what he was expecting - ridicule from the staff, rage from the chef...and hatred from the sexy manager he slept with the night before.

Max has the opportunity to manage the bar, but ends up making a complete mess of it. Vika wants to get Max fired so she provokes a fight between him and the bartender Kostya. The chef loses his favorite knife and refuses to cook.

Max is given a mission for the day - unload vegetables and slaughter a goose. The chef prepares a banquet for the female judge who suspended his driver's license. Vika is pursued by a persistent, but married, admirer.

Max is given an important assignment - make lunch for the kitchen staff. Chef is searching for a traitor - he's sure one of the cooks is planning to defect. Kostya has a crush on waitress Nastya, and Max decides to play wingman for his new friend.

Max tries to convince Kostya there's nothing going on between him and Nastya - but Nastya wants to believe otherwise! Fedya challenges Max to a "fish duel", while the other cooks bet on a winner. Chef Victor is determined to win the jackpot.

Victor prepares for the restaurant's sanitary inspection by organizing a massive kitchen clean-up. Max and Kostya accidentally throw out some rare and expensive truffles. To get them back, they enlist the services of a homeless man.
