After living with his family in Paris, Rubirosa comes back to the Dominican Republic; upon his return, Ruby meets with Candelaria, a member of the opposition, and suffers the first tragedy of his life.

Flor goes back to Dominican Republic; Rubi joins Candelaria; Trujillo, eager to be part of the high society, allows the opposition to infiltrate.

Pursued by the men of Trujillo, Rubirosa and Flor have an encounter that could have terrible consequences.

President Trujillo starts hunting down Haitians. Flor and Rubi try to star a business.

Candelaria gets help to escape from the Dominican Republic; Flor and Rubi move to New York, but they run out of luck.

Rubirosa is sent to Nazi Germany; Trujillo orders him to use his seduction skills to get allies of the dictatorship.
