Hui-tae, who had no interest in the democratization movement and was worried about money matters, went to his hometown of Gwangju with an unexpected opportunity.

Myeong Hee goes on a blind date, pretending to be Soo Ryeon; with Soo Ryeon's coaching on a foolproof way to get rejected on the first date, Myeong Hee expects the date to end quickly.

Myeonhui visits Suryeon's house and there she reunites with Huitae; later Huitae tutors Myeonghui's landlord's daughter which causes Myeonghui to shape feelings for him.

Myeonghui puts off her response to Huitae's confession and turns in a resignation paper to the hospital; Suryeon receives a strange call and heads to her friend's house who has been on the wanted list.

Myeonghui recollects Suryeon's family affair and asks Huitae to engage Suryeon; Hyuncheol visits Myeonghui but soon he spots the declaration and tears it to pieces.

Huitae and Myeonghui run off from the venue in the middle of the night but Suryeon, Hye-gun, and Suchan see them; Huitae's father is furious about Huitae disappearing on engagement day and slaps his face.
