Having been hand selected by the judges, 17 brand new talented home cooks arrive at the MasterChef kitchen for the very first time.

Each contestant is assigned an ingredient and must make a choice: either take the ingredient they can see to feature in their dish, or take a gamble to select the one they can’t.

In Round One, Jamie Oliver tasks the contestants with making a delicious 15 Minute Meal.

Three chefs will face off for the ultimate Immunity challenge prize: to be the first contestant through to Finals Week, securing their place in the Top 4.

The contestants must be prepared for both the time and the ingredients to last them two rounds.
