Eline Powell

Actress Eline Powell first caught attention with her starring role in post-WWII drama "Anita B." (2014) before landing the leading part of vengeful mermaid Ryn in fantasy drama "Siren" (Freeform, 2018-). Born in London, Powell trained at the city's Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts before making her screen debut in "For Elsie" (2011), a short film about a piano teacher hired by a Russian gangster. A year later she played Angelique in Dustin Hoffman's directorial debut, "Quartet" (2012), Anna in the film adaptation of Michael Morpurgo's war novel "Private Peaceful" (2012) and Lule in an episode of sex trafficking drama "The Fear" (Channel 4, 2012). Powell then enjoyed leading lady status as the titular Auschwitz survivor who embarks on an intense relationship in Italian filmmaker Roberto Faenza's post-Holocaust tale "Anita B." (2014) and played a babysitter haunted by a book of fairytales in the "Behind You" segment of anthology "A Moment of Horror" (2015). Powell's profile grew considerably when she was cast as theater troupe actress Bianca for three episodes of the fantasy phenomenon "Game of Thrones" (HBO, 2011-). She then played damsel in distress Desiree in stoner comedy "AmStarDam" (2016) and Sister Candace in faith-based Sundance hit "Novitiate" (2017), and joined Lorraine Bruce and Hermione Corfield as one of three syrens in Guy Ritchie's medieval blockbuster "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" (2017). Powell landed her first leading role on the small screen when she was chosen to play Ryn, a vengeful mermaid who turns a sleepy town upside down, in fantasy drama "Siren" (Freeform, 2018-).
