Pop Kaun

Sahil Trivedi is the younger son of Brij Kishore Trivedi, He is an MP from a leading political party in Delhi. Sahil has this habit of using his father’s name and power for his own goodwill which makes this his favourite line “jaanta hai mera baap kaun hai?”The quirkiness and clever approach in Sahil’s character makes him live upto his father’s expectations and hence is the perfect heir to his political career while Sahil’s elder brother Balwan is always jealous of Sahil. Sahil’s love interest Pihu is Don Karamjit Biswajit Chautala’s (KBC) only daughter. In their family, apart from Pihu and KBC there is Pihu’s paralyzed grandfather who always stays on a wheelchair and never utters a word. Sahil decides to ask for Pihu’s hand for marriage from her father. KBC has his own ‘asools and adarsh’ – his criteria of judging a person is pretty simple, he just has to know who his father is! Well, according to him a thief’s son turns out to be a thief, a beggar’s son a beggar and so on, it’s all in the sperm (or as KBC calls it – wajood ka keeda). Luckily, in Sahil’s case his father B.K. Trivedi is a big name in politics and he is the face of the political party for the upcoming elections. KBC agrees to Sahil’s rishta for Pihu and celebrations start in full swing leading to their engagement. Suddenly after the ring ceremony, one unfortunate day B.K. Trivedi becomes victim to heart attack and is immediately admitted to the emergency ward in a hospital. This news makes his biggest political rival Malik extremely happy and he hopes to win the elections after his absence. In order to save his party’s legacy Trivedi ji decides to hand over the party ticket to his younger son Sahil – this in turn makes Balwan furious and he bursts out in the hospital in front of his father exclaiming “How can he hand over everything to Sahil when he’s not even his real son!!” Sahil is left speechless and Trivedi ji gets another heart attack and from here on starts a rollercoaster ride for Sahil. His words are still the same but his attitude differs now, he goes – “jaanta hai mera baap kaun hai?” Utterly confused Sahil waits for his father to attain consciousness and then he barges in with a long list of questions in his head. Trivedi ji tells him that many years ago he was attacked, Trivedi’s loyal bodyguard Sultan took bullets to his chest and sacrificed himself in order to save Trivedi. Trivedi would have done anything to repay Sultan, Sultan’s old crippled father Taufeeq requested Trivedi to take care of Sultan’s 1 year old son. Sahil is Sultan’s son. KBC gets the news and loses his temper – “Sahil isn’t a politician’s son, he is a bodyguard’s son?” Not only Sahil undergoes a change in family, he also simultaneously undergoes a change in religion.
