Charlotte Newhouse

A native of New York City, Charlotte Newhouse worked in Hollywood as an actor and a screenwriter. A lover of theater since childhood, Newhouse studied the medium at Columbia University. Her first onscreen performance came in 1996 when she was featured in the film "Yesterday When Charles Arrived." She appeared in a number of television and film projects during the 90s and early 2000s including "Barbershop" (Showtime, 2005-), "Campus Ladies" (Oxygen, 2006-07), and "Living With Fran" (WB, 2005-07). In 2010 Newhouse appeared in the feature film "The Man That I Was." That same year she appeared in an episode of "The Big Bang Theory" (CBS, 2007-) and "Men of a Certain Age"(TNT, 2009-2012). In addition to acting for television and film, Newhouse was an active member of The Groundlings Improv Theatre, joining the Main Company after moving to Los Angeles. At The Groundlings, Newhouse met her writing partner Jillian Bell, and the two collaborated on a project called "Idiotsitter." Initially conceived as a television pilot, Comedy Central had them turn it into a web series. After several episodes received positive feedback, the show was picked up for broadcast. The plot of the series focuses around a woman (Newhouse) in desperate need of work who takes a job as a nanny to a family in Los Angeles. Her charge turns out to be a grown woman (Bell) currently under house arrest.
