Clark and Lex defy their respective fathers. Clark joins the football team, against Jonathan's wishes, ultimately discovering that the coach, Walt Arnold (DAN LAURIA), has been altered by Kryptonite and is using fire-starting abilities to hurt anyone who might prevent him from winning. Meanwhile, Lex battles his own father, Lionel Luthor (JOHN GLOVER), for control of LuthorCorp.

Clark's secret identity is jeopardized when a corrupt policeman, Sam Phelan (CAMERON DYE), witnesses Clark using his superhuman powers and coerces him into joining forces. However, when Clark double-crosses the cop, he is not prepared to deal with the consequences for him and his family. Meanwhile, Lex receives an intriguing proposal from his sexy British ex-girlfriend, Victoria Hardwick (recurring guest star KELLY BROOK - "The Big Breakfast").

After witnessing an explosion near some meteor fragments, Lana gains the ability to see through other people's eyes. Clark and Lana race to find Chloe after Lana "watches" Chloe being kidnapped and buried alive. A wild storm buries alive Clark's father and a reporter (Tom O'Brien) who has uncovered Clark's secret.

After Lana is almost assaulted by a college student, Clark loses control and injures him. The Kents are then sued for punitive damages that could cost them the farm, and Clark questions his powers--while trying to find a way to forestall the lawsuit. Meanwhile, Helen's ex-boyfriend arrives in town intent on winning her back. When she rebuffs him, he stalks her, prompting Lex to take action.

After Lana is visited by the ghost of her childhood friend, she turns to Clark for help in uncovering the truth about the strange visitor. However, Clark realizes that the little girl is actually a kryptonite-enhanced clone, and he rushes to save Lana before the revenge-seeking child harms her. Meanwhile, Lex learns that Lionel is funding the cloning research.
