The lives of former high school classmates Chen Mai Dong (Li Xian) and Zhuang Jie (Zhou Yu Tong) have turned out very differently. A former wild-living rebel, Mai Dong’s once-carefree life was derailed by a momentous, life-changing event. He has since become a funeral makeup artist, applying cosmetic treatment for cadavers before they are entered. Zhuang Jie, meanwhile, suffered debilitating injuries in a traffic accident, but has overcome her disabilities to become a successful salesperson. Their reunion leads them to find solace and comfort in one another’s company. Could this lead them to happiness – and even love? This 2024 Chinese drama series was based on a novel by She Mu Si and directed by Liang Cheng.
