Edward Allen Bernero

Edward Allen Bernero is a writer, producer, and director, best known as the creator of the NBC police show "Third Watch." Before becoming a writer , Bernero served as a beat cop in Chicago. Bernero's first writing credit was for the 1997 NBC cop show "Brooklyn South," writing four episodes for the program's sole season. In 1999, Bernero created "Third Watch," a police show drawn from his experiences and set in New York City. The show ran for six seasons, with Bernero writing many of the episodes as well as executive producing the show. He also directed episodes of the show's fifth and sixth seasons. After "Third Watch"'s cancellation, Bernero became the executive producer and writer on the 2005 CBS crime drama series "Criminal Minds," a program about a team of crime profilers. Bernero also produced and wrote a pilot titled "Washington Field" in 2009, concerning an elite team of F.B.I. agents. The pilot was not tapped for series status.
