Heike Makatsch

Heike Makatsch hosted a number of German music-format programs in the early to mid-'90s and even briefly had her own late night show in 1997 before embarking on a film profession. In 1999, she appeared in the German drama "Aimée & Jaguar," about two female lovers enslaved in a concentration camp during World War II. Next, the German actress crossed over to American cinema with a role as a doctor-turned-zombie in 2002's "Resident Evil," based on the popular video game series. That same year, back in her home country, she appeared in the film "Naked," which chronicles the lives of three couples: one newly broken up, one on the verge of breaking up, and one (seemingly) at peace. Makatsch played Emilia, a woman whose relationship with her boyfriend had just fallen apart.Makatsch's most famous role came a year later, in 2003, as part of the ensemble romantic comedy "Love Actually" in one of the film's 10 romantic tales. In her story, Makatsch plays a secretary who's the object of affection for her older, married boss, played by Alan Rickman.
