Ken Thorne

Throughout his Hollywood career, Academy Award-winning musician Ken Thorne proved a true master of his craft. He followed this honor with songs in the dramatic adaptation "How I Won the War" (1967) with Michael Crawford, the comedy adaptation "Inspector Clouseau" (1968) with Alan Arkin and the comedy "Head" (1968) with Micky Dolenz. Thorne won an Academy Award for "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" in 1966. In the seventies and the eighties, Thorne's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the Craig Wasson drama "The Outsider" (1979), "Arabian Adventure" (1979) with Milo O'Shea and "Wolf Lake" (1981). In the eighties through the early 2000s, Thorne lent his talents to projects like "Great Expectations" (1988-89), "Act of Piracy" with Gary Busey (1990) and "3 Ninjas" with Victor Wong (1992). His credits also expanded to "Sunset Grill" (1993) and "U-571" (2000). Most recently, Thorne worked on "Marco Polo" (2006-07). Thorne was nominated for an Outstanding Individual Achievement In Music and Lyrics Primetime Emmy Award for "A Season of Hope" in 1995. Thorne won a Music (Scoring of Music--Adaptation or Treatment) Academy Award for "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" in 1966.
