The New Years

It's the early morning of January 1st, 2016. Óscar is feeling down: he's gone to a nightclub with his ex-girlfriend, Vero, thinking he still has a chance with her. But he's wrong. It's the same nightclub where Ana works as a waitress. When the club closes, Ana and Oscar meet at a bar.

December 31st. Ana joins Óscar for a dinner party at Guille and Ali's. While they wait for Óscar's father to arrive, the guests entertain themselves with a game where all the tensions of the evening will play out.

It's the morning of January 1st, 2018, and Óscar and Ana have a terrible hangover. They spent New Year's Eve in Ana's apartment, and the house is a mess. They only have one plan today: to spend all day in bed.

Ana and Oscar are now living together and celebrating New Year's Eve with their families. When Oscar recalls scenes from his childhood, his mother interprets them very differently, causing old conflicts to resurface. Ana receives an attractive job offer in Edinburgh and must make a choice.

January 1, 2020. Ana and Óscar reunite in Berlin for a whirlwind day of reconnecting, roaming the city, and trying to get into one of its most famous techno clubs.
