Karima McAdams

After first gaining attention as a model, Karima McAdams made the transition into acting thanks in part to her resemblance to a certain video game character. Born in London, she spent her early childhood in Tangier before returning to England for schooling. With only a small role in "Aliens vs. Predators" (2004) to her credit, McAdams was selected to be the seventh live embodiment of Lara Croft, the hero of the "Tomb Raider" video game series. After intensive physical training, she made promotional appearances as the character for two years. She continued acting, scoring minor parts in "Frontier Blues" (2009) and "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" (2011). Her breakthrough came with a role in the British miniseries "Fearless" (ITV, 2017), playing the wife of a suspected terrorist. She added to her resume with a memorable turn playing the Byzantine nun Kassia in "Vikings" (History Channel, 2013-). Her diligence paid off when she landed a lead role on "Deep State" (Epix, 2018-) where she played a MI6 operative spying on Mark Strong's retired agent.
