Kris Marshall

Kris Marshall is a boyish-faced British actor whose breakthrough role came in the long-running BBC comedy series "My Family," where he played the lay-about eldest son in a cheerfully dysfunctional family. Marshall's shaggy ''every guy" quality made him stand out in the ensemble cast of the film "Love Actually," where he played an ordinary British college student confident that American girls would be swept away by his ''exotic'' accent. While Marshall built a solid reputation in numerous successful comedy roles, his dramatic forays proved equally impressive, playing an earnest young soldier in "The Four Feathers," a socialist idealist turned extremist in a TV adaptation of "Dr. Zhivago" and a complex turn as a detective sergeant in the frequently grim series "Murder City." Confidence in his abilities led Marshall to theater where his work ranged from tragedy to romantic-drama. For all Marshall's consistent exposure on the big screen, small screen and stage, he may be best known to the public in Great Britain for playing a family man in the BT Telecommunication television advertisements. Marshall continues to sprinkle his career with big screen endeavors as well as a return to television with "Traffic Light," a romantic comedy series set among a group of thirty-somethings.
