Schaal's father William decides to participate in the Civil War so he can secure a future for her and the children of their orphanage.

Schaal decides to go on a journey with Hank, the man who killed her father, and their destination is a town called Roguehill.

A beast called the Incarnate Behemoth is marching towards the Bridge of Peace, and Hank has been called upon to stop it.

Hank and his party head to the city of Whitechurch to find Cain Madhouse, the man who unleashed the Beasts upon their world.

Cain kidnaps Schaal and invites Hank to a party; though it's clearly a trap, Hank accepts Cain's invitation so he can rescue Schaal.
