Recess

The Recess Gang breaks up when a project involving writing a report about their best friend sparks division amongst the pupils. All five of the other children write about TJ, and he is rather dumbfounded to discover that he has five best friends, not just one best friend. A hypnotist accidentally hypnotises the headmaster during a show that he's putting on for the school. No-one wants to pay him for his time and the headmaster is running about like a 6-year old kid. Whatever is to be done about it?

Spinelli accidentally calls Miss Grotke "Mama" in front of the whole playground. Since her friends think that this is funny, they then try to make Randall say "Mama", too. However, Randal is too smart for his friends... Later, all Miss Grotke's pupils call her "Mama"! Ashley A gets thrown out of The Ashleys because she forgets the tradition of Purple Day, a grave sin against the clique. She is then forced to hook up with Gretchen.

A new game called ajimbo becomes the playground favorite; Gus kicks a special ball into the Yard of No Return and must get it back.

Gus is the new victim of Gelman the bully and must get up his courage to fight back; the bus breaks down on the way to a field trip, forcing the kids to work together to save the day.

Principal Prickley's brother is principal at a rival school. and soon there's competition to see which is the best school; as part of the Big Kid Buddy program, the gang finds itself paired up with a bunch of kindergarten kids.

The gang finds the substitute teacher is not what they expected; Gretchen has yo-yo skills.
