Christopher Durang

Christopher Durang was a vibrant source of comedy on the big screen, bringing laughter and joy to many audiences over the course of his Hollywood career. Durang worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "Alive TV" (PBS, 1984-1996), "Beyond Therapy" (1987) starring Julie Hagerty and "Heaven Help Us" (1985) starring Andrew McCarthy. He also contributed to "Mr. North" (1988), "The Comedy Zone" (CBS, 1983-84) and "The Secret of My Success" (1987). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the eighties and the nineties, appearing in the comedic adventure "Penn & Teller Get Killed" (1989) with Penn Jillette, the comedy "A Shock to the System" (1990) with Michael Caine and "In the Spirit" (1990) with Phillip Schopper. Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the action picture "The Cowboy Way" (1994) with Woody Harrelson, " Women In Black" (1999) and the fantastical comedy "Simply Irresistible" (1999) with Sarah Michelle Gellar. He also appeared in the Steve Martin comedy adaptation "The Out-Of-Towners" (1999). Most recently, Durang wrote "Sister Mary Explains It All" (Showtime, 2000-01). Christopher Durang died on April 2, 2024 at the age of 75.
