Hans Christian Blech

Hans Christian Blech was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. In his early acting career, Blech appeared in such films as the spy thriller "Decision Before Dawn" (1952) with Richard Basehart, "Kinder, Mutter und ein General" (1955) and "The Longest Day" (1962). He also appeared in "The Visit" (1964), the drama "Battle of the Bulge" (1965) with Henry Fonda and "Morituri" (1965) with Marlon Brando. He continued to work steadily in film throughout the seventies, appearing in "Der Scharlachrote Buchstabe" (1972), the Gian Maria Volonte dramatic period piece "Giordano Bruno" (1973) and the mystery "La Chair de l'orchidee" (1974) with Charlotte Rampling. He also appeared in "Il faut vivre Dangereusement" (1975). Nearing the end of his career, he continued to act in the Bruno Ganz suspenseful mystery "Messer im Kopf" (1978), the thriller "Les Innocents aux mains Sales" (1978) with Rod Steiger and the Micaela Jolin drama "Victoria" (1979). He also appeared in "Looping" (1981) and "Der Zauberberg" (1982). Blech more recently acted in "Magyar Rekviem" (1990). Blech passed away in March 1993 at the age of 78.
