Robert D. Webb

Academy Award-winning director Robert D Webb captivated countless audiences with his visionary productions. D Webb directed a variety of independent films in his early directing career, including such titles as "The Spider" (1945), the adventurous drama "Beneath the 12 Mile Reef" (1953) with Robert Wagner and the Victor Mature drama "The Glory Brigade" (1953). He also appeared in the Richard Egan adaptation "Seven Cities of Gold" (1955). He continued to work in film in the fifties and the sixties, directing motion pictures like "White Feather" (1955) with Robert Wagner, the romance "Love Me Tender" (1956) with Richard Egan and the dramatic adaptation "The Way to the Gold" (1957) with Jeffrey Hunter. He also appeared in "Guns of the Timberland" (1960). In the sixties and the seventies, D Webb lent his talents to projects like "The Agony and the Ecstasy" (1965), "Assault on a Queen" with Frank Sinatra (1966) and "The Jackals" with Vincent Price (1967). His credits also expanded to "To Be Free" (1972). D Webb last worked on "This Is Elvis" (1981) with David Scott. D Webb passed away in April 1990 at the age of 87.
