Oliver Hailey

TV and stage writer who enjoyed moderate success in both fields. Hailey began as a reporter for THE DALLAS MORNING NEWS in 1957. His first play, "Hey You, Light Man!," was produced off-Broadway in 1963. Hailey had the dubious distinction of having three plays produced on Broadway only for each to close in one night. His TV credits include the soap opera satire "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman," Rock Hudson's police commissioner drama "McMillan and Wife," "Love, Sidney" and "The Cosby Show." Hailey's only film credit was for the mild George Burns-Brooke Shields comedy, "Just You and Me, Kid" (1979).
