Allison Tolman

Allison Tolman was an American television actress who rose to prominence for her critically-acclaimed performance as Deputy Molly Solverson on "Fargo" (FX 2014-). The daughter of Davis and Valerie Tolman. Although she was born in Houston, Texas, she and her family moved to England just a few months after her birth and remained there until she was four years-old. Afterwards, the Tolmans moved back to Texas and settled down in the Houston suburb of Sugar Land. After graduating from Clements High School, she enrolled at Baylor University where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatrical performance. After college, she became a darling of the Dallas theater scene as one of the founding members of Second Thought Theatre. In 2006, Tolman landed her first, albeit small, television role in a guest appearance on the serial drama "Prison Break" (Fox 2005-09). However, she relocated to Chicago in the first half of 2009 and was accepted into the famed improv theater Second City's conservatory program. Tolman struggled to find acting jobs, but her luck turned around when the folks from the cable network FX seriously considered an audition tape she submitted. It eventually led to her being cast in 2013 as Deputy Molly Solverson in the new series "Fargo," a television adaptation of the 1996 Coen Brothers film. The show was a critical success and Tolman's performance earned her a Best Supporting Actress in a Movie/Miniseries at the 2014 Critics Choice Television Awards, as well as her first Primetime Emmy Award nomination. After co-starring in psychological thriller "The Gift" (2015) and horror comedy "Krampus" (2015), Tolman returned to TV as the star of melancholy sitcom "Downward Dog" (ABC 2017), which lasted only one season. Tolman next co-starred in the Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler comedy "The House" (2017).
