Emma Roberts

Born in Rhinebeck, New York, actress and singer Emma Roberts was the daughter of actor Eric Roberts and the niece of actress Julia Roberts. The younger Roberts made her film debut in 2001 in the movie "Blow" starring Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz. In 2004 Roberts was cast as the lead in the Nickelodeon children's series "Unfabulous" (Nickelodeon, 2004-07). In 2006 Roberts appeared in the movie "Aquamarine" alongside pop singer JoJo. That same year Roberts shot the movie "Nancy Drew" in which she played the titular teenage sleuth. In 2008 she appeared as the lead in the movie "Wild Child," about a young troubled teenager sent from Malibu to boarding school in England. The next year Roberts costarred with actor Jake T. Austin in the movie "Hotel for Dogs" which was based on the novel by Lois Duncan. Roberts appeared with her aunt Julia Roberts in the ensemble film "Valentine's Day" in 2010. In 2013 Roberts was cast in Gia Coppola's directorial debut "Palo Alto," which was based on a short story collection written by actor James Franco. Roberts appeared in the third season of the anthology horror series "American Horror Story (FX, 2011-). Roberts's season was called "American Horror Story: Coven" (FX, 2013-14). She also appeared in the following season "American Horror Story: Freak Show" (FX, 2014-15). In 2019 co-creator Ryan Murphy announced that Roberts would appear in the ninth season of AHS, subtitled "1984."Roberts briefly attended Sarah Lawrence College, but put her academic work on hold after one semester to focus on acting.
