S1, E3: A city dweller, Gerald, goes camping to get away from his noisy surroundings and news reports of serial killings. Another camper, Ben (Brian Dennehy), bothers Gerald repeatedly. Finally, exasperated by Ben's intrusions, Gerald kills Ben. Gerald is a serial killer who just wanted a weekend off from murdering. / An army scientist (Bill Pullman) investigates the bizarre appearance in the desert of a self-contained environment resembling an 1800s prairie, populated by people who are not aware of the world outside. The scientist becomes enamored with one of the women inside and yearns for the simple life they lead. But when he enters the prairie, he is eaten by aliens from another dimension masquerading as the frontier family.
