S9, E1: A new captain joins Squad Three, taking the place of the rebel Gin Ichimaru. His name is Shusuke Amagai. Shusuke is an unknown captain who was away on a long-term assignment and has only recently returned to the Seireitei. The members of the Squad Three are still scarred by the way their previous captain left them, and they are unable to hide their mixed emotions. Meanwhile, Shusuke brings Soul Reaper Makoto Kibune to appoint to the third seat.
