T1, E3: In January 1968, during the Tet holiday cease-fire, the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong attacked over 100 cities and bases in South Vietnam. Technically a military defeat for the Viet Cong, the offensive became a political and public relations disaster at home on U.S. soil.
