Donatos

S5, E3: Jane Grote Abel, the chairman of Donatos Pizza and daughter of the founder, is going undercover posing as “Cathy”, a contestant on a reality competition show trying to win money to open up her own vegan sandwich shop. Jane’s life and career have revolved around Donatos since she was a little girl. The very first Donatos location was in front of her house growing up, where she has fond memories of customers hanging out in her living room while they wait for their pizza. Jane has had to work hard to climb to the top of the ladder at Donatos, from delivering pizzas, answering phones to managing stores and finally becoming the company Chairwoman. After Donatos sold the company to McDonalds and then quickly bought it back 4 years later, Jane’s focus is on where the company is going, how they are getting there and the plans for the future. Her father founded the company with one philosophy in mind, “To make the best pizza and to treat others the way I would like to be treated.” Jane wants to head out to the frontlines to make sure her fathers’ values are still being implemented to this day.
