S1, E1: Joanna is determined to explore every inch of India as she ventures from the south to the heights of the Himalayas. She encounters a dazzling, multicolored temple which comes alive at night with wild celebration, experiences a deeply personal revelation when visiting where her mother lived as a child before traveling to Calcutta where she’s moved by the plight of the many people on its streets.
