S1, E2: War is raging, but despite the excitement of juggling a relationship with Muriel and a blossoming affair with Ann O'Neill, Ian feels increasingly trapped behind his Admiralty desk. Eventually he lands a mission to France but when it spins out of control and he returns home to news of a tragic death, it's finally clear that war is far from a game.
