S1, E4: This week Sanjeev Kumar is determined to put on a great show in the family’s flat behind the general store they run in Hounslow but, as usual Dad, Ashwin, insists on keeping the shop open for customers. He has decided that in order to increase customers, he is going to start selling fortune bhajis – although he has written all the ‘fortunes’ himself. Deborah Meaden from Dragon’s Den arrives in the shop and Ashwin thinks she would be the perfect investor in his new business proposition but unfortunately she only came in looking for cat litter and is not impressed.First to make it past Ashwin’s shop is actor Adrian Lester best known for his role as Michael "Mickey Bricks" Stone in the BBC TV series Hustle. Next up is Jenny Agutter, most recently seen in the BBC’s ‘Call the Midwife’– although as usual Sanjeev Kumar asks all the questions no other chat show host will and discovers her love of rap music and gets her to rap in the living room. Finally the family are joined on the sofa by firebrand actor and explorer Brian Blessed who retells the story of how he once punched a polar bear whilst on an expedition to the North Pole.
