S6, E9: J.R. Ewing and Cliff Barnes vie for the same oil refinery, with either Sue Ellen or Afton holding the trump card to win the deal for her man. Sue Ellen unhappily suspects that J.R. has used her in dealing with the lecherous Thruman while Afton realizes what she must do to help Cliff win over J.R. in the most important opportunity of his career. Miss Ellie questions J.R. about his tactics in pumping oil at full capacity and rejects the idea that there is anything serious between her and Frank Crutcher.
