The Girl Scouts was founded March 12th 1912 in Savannah Georgia, the Salvation Army starts in 1880, and the American Legion was organized 1919. Early May was also scattered with important births and passings including the birth of Knute Rockne (the greatest of all football coaches) and Albert Einstein and the passing of Joseph Stalin and Admiral Byrd.
