T1, E9: The plight of an elderly coal miner, trapped fifteen hundred feet below ground, causes Lois Lane, nearby on a routine assignment for the Daily Planet, to foolishly try to save him during "Rescue," the Superman adventure story. She too is trapped. As the mine begins to fill up with coal gas, Clark Kent as Superman, bulldozes through solid ground to rescue both.
