Rudolf Nureyev

S2, E13: The Muppet stage has never looked so spiffy. Self-appointed guardian of dignity, Sam the Eagle, has forced everyone to spruce things up, wear tuxedos, and behave with decorum in anticipation of legendary guest star Rudolf Nureyev’s arrival – culture at last! But when Nureyev shows up dressed informally, Sam assumes he’s a bum…and throws him out! All is soon forgiven and the show goes on, but much to Sam’s dismay (and the audience’s delight!), culture is replaced by comic chaos as Nureyev dances a pas de deux with a giant ballerina pig in “Swine Lake”; Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem “murder” Luigi Boccherini’s “Minuet in A Major”; and an amorous Miss Piggy ambushes Nureyev in a steam room as they sing “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.”
