S2, E6: In Britain, the average man owns nine pairs of shoes and the average woman owns 17. How do footwear factories keep up with the demand? To find out, we enter the largest sports shoe plant in the U.K., the New Balance sneaker factory, where a team of workers and craftspeople produce 1.4 million pairs every year, shipped to shoe shops all over the world. We reveal how they sew together a shoe out of 27 different pieces made from eight different materials. We'll also meet the man who comes up with new sneaker designs.
