S1, E15: Led by Joe Collier, their former Sergeant in Korea, Joe Woolard and other veterans turn to crime. Bill Crowley and Pepper Anderson investigate when the vets steal M-16 rifles, an anti-tank gun and ammunition from a National Guard armoury, killing a guard in the process. Unknown to his associates, Woolard has kept two M-16's and is trying to sell them. A snitch tells Crowley and he and Pepper find out that bookie Woolard owes money. They also find Charlene, the hooker Woolard uses whenever he is tired of his wife and son. Posing as Charlene's friend, Pepper contacts Woolard. When he becomes suspicious and tries to kill her, she is rescued by police back-up. Woolard is shot trying to escape. Woolard refuses to talk, but his wife reveals Collier's plan for "Operation Sidewinder," the robbery of an army pay truck for $3,000,000. Crowley, Pepper and back-up reach the ambush scene after the commandos have used their anti-tank gun on the pay truck, but before they can escape with the loot.
