S17, E9: In this three-part homage to the holiday 1) Reverend Lovejoy cannot deliver a sermon, so Homer takes over and relates his version of the birth of Christ, and incidentally, the creation of the Christmas tree 2) We learn that Grampa and Mr. Burns were marooned on an island in the Pacific during World War II, where Grampa saves Santa Claus and 3) in a musical segment based on "The Nutcracker Suite" we see Springfielders going about their annual Christmas rituals, including Moe attempting to kill himself, and Homer desperately trying to find a last-minute gift for Marge.
