The last to be opened is her gift from Eddie, something that he admits he found in an old trunk in the attic. Marilyn is pleased to find that the gift is a beautiful emerald ring. Grandpa, however, goes into shock and faints when he sees the ring and Marilyn leaves the house on a date before he recovers.
