S1, E18: The Animorphs discover that the Yeerks are dying in the heads of many controllers. The controllers have concocted a “flu epidemic” cover-up story but will the truth get out? Jake and Marco take a big risk to try and save Tom, sick with the “flu”, but he is taken by controllers for regeneration in the final hour. The risk pays off when they discover that it is in fact a freed controller, Mr. Perkins, their science teacher, who is trying to save Tom. Unfortunately, his attempt fails, and Jake and Marco must help Mr. Perkins escape Yeerk retaliation. Once again, their risks pay off and they learn that saving the world sometimes means one person at a time.
