S2, E25: Doctor Quinn has discovered a new explosive and taught the formula to his pet parakeet, Skyler. When the bird is carried off by an agent intent on stealing the explosive for a foreign power, Superman steps in, but is hard pressed, with all his great powers, to outwit his adversaries in the exciting drama, "The Case of the Whistling Bird." It becomes necessary for "the man of steel" to drink some of the explosive to prevent disaster.
