Anchor and Hope
Charlie Chaplin’s daughter and granddaughter star in the award-winning movie “Anchor and Hope”. Eva (Oona Chaplin) and Kat (Natalia Tena) lead a carefree life on their houseboat in London far away from all constraints. Until one day Eva, incited by her mother Germaine (Geraldine Chaplin), gives Kat an ultimatum: She wants to have a child - now! Kat is immediately aware that this would inevitably mean the end of their unconventional lifestyle, even though she had just settled down with Eva. Thus, what remains for Kat is resistance! But, when Kat’s best friend Roger (David Verdaguer) comes to visit from Barcelona, the three of them - by pure chance and against Kat’s concerns - begin playing through the idea of having a baby together. Lo and behold, Kat finally says “Yes” to the offspring. But what does family planning, yet, a future look like with three parents? It is exactly this point of issue, where varying expectations of intimacy and responsibility clash and which will, thus, have to be solved first of all...
