Christmas Above the Clouds

Eager to skip Christmas, Ella Neezer, CEO of the Great Expectations Trips agency books an international flight on Christmas Eve from New York to Australia. With air travel time of over 22 hours, the time difference, and crossing of meridians, Ella won’t land until the day after Christmas, skipping the holiday entirely. Ella is accompanied by her exhausted assistant, Bobbi, who is forced to miss the holiday with her son Tim. When Ella arrives at the airport, she runs into Jake, her ex-fiancé who is taking the same flight. Once Ella boards, she is visited by three spirits who take Ella out of her comfortable first-class seat and to her Christmases past, present and future. Over the course of the evening, Ella reevaluates the choices she has made and finds the true meaning of Christmas. After her visit with the final spirit, she wakes up to realize that the plane had to make an emergency landing in Utah. It’s December 25th – she did not miss Christmas! With a renewed sense of joy, Ella ensures everyone on the plane is booked in a luxury hotel for Christmas, sends Bobbi back east to be with her family on Christmas, and gets a second chance with Jake.
