Cinderella Moon
Long ago, in a majestic kingdom in China, events on Earth are reflected in the heavens, where the sun and moon keep each other in balance. But when the mistreatment of young girls results in a moon that stubbornly refuses to move in the sky, the sun threatens to lose its balance and fall, destroying Earth. The King knows that in order to restore balance in the heavens he must fix the imbalance between boys and girls on Earth... but how? One day, an oppressed orphan girl named Mei Mei disobeys her scheming stepmother and, following instead the advice of a magical fish, fulfills her destiny by attending the Full Moon Dance. It is there, wearing her deceased mother's magic slippers, that she finally determines her fate, and the fate of her threatened world. Cinderella Moon takes the world's first Cinderella story, written in China in 768 AD, and updates it for a 21st century audience.
