Colonel Chabert

Left for dead on the battlefield during the Napoleonic Wars, Colonel Chabert struggles to hold on, but after considerable time regains his health. He returns to Paris ten years after the war has ended only to find that his wife remarried in his absence. The Colonel wishes his wife and wealth back, but life has moved on without him. Seeking the aid of a lawyer, Chabert fights for his title and all that comes with it, but he may find it a losing battle. Starring Gérard Depardieu and Fanny Ardant in their first film together since The Woman Next Door (1981), past and present duel over the volatile topic of love.
