Academy Award winner Clark Gable stars as Brigadier General K. C. Dennis, an officer forced to make the impossible choice to send his airmen on a mission he knows must succeed, but from which he does not expect his men to return--the general who must make the Command Decision. World War II. European Theater of Operations. The Nazis are building jet-powered aircraft in factories deep within the heart of Germany--far beyond the range of fighter escorts for Allied bombers. General Dennis knows the Germans must not be allowed to finish their new generation of aircraft: The German jets could change the outcome of the war. Now, as General Dennis acquires a reputation as a butcher, no one realizes the toll that the loss of each airman takes on him.
