Idealistic talk show producer Diane Shepherd clashes with her ratings-obsessed boss. Diane is forced to produce an engrossing segment about a prostitute that could potentially harm the subject, young Kelly Reilly. Kelly desperately wants to lead a normal life, but society continually drags her back down to rock-bottom, and her appearance on the show won't mitigate her perpetual struggle.
